EAPSU Fall Conference 2013
The EAPSU Fall Conference, hosted by West Chester University of Pennsylvania, is slated for October 17-18, 2013. The conference theme is "Under Siege," and the keynote speaker is the former President of the Modern Language Association, Michael Berube. The conference website is available here and a PDF version of the CFP is available here.
EAPSU Board Member Elections at Fall Conference 2013
All four board positions officially will be vacated (president, vice president, secretary, and treasurer) at the Fall Conference. The election process works like this: Campus reps gather and nominate candidates for each position. Then a vote is held. Candidates must be members of EAPSU. Spread the word: It is very important that campus reps know about this event so that they may participate.
EAPSU Description
The English Association of the Pennsylvania State Universities (EAPSU) is a regional professional organization whose members come from the faculty and students of the 14 state university English Departments in the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE). Click here for a list of member institutions.
EAPSU has been in existence since 1980 as an organization dedicated to excellence in English studies, and we have prided ourselves in being inclusive. Our conferences showcase the best in many disciplines within English Studies: composition, creative writing, literature, film, technical/scientific writing, and, of course, pedagogy.
Conferences
EAPSU sponsors an annual Fall Conference for faculty and an annual Spring Conference for undergraduate English majors.
EAPSU Online
In 2004, EAPSU established a peer-reviewed online journal to supplement our conference and its proceedings. We wanted to continue our practice of allowing many voices to be heard at our conferences while enabling a more exclusive, competitive venue for scholarly and creative work.
We have received manuscripts from all over the world and have published a variety of material that might not have an audience without us. Each submission goes through a blind review process and is sent to two readers initially for input; marginal works are asked to resubmit with revision.
